Description

I was always annoyed when my painting cones or pyramids moved away on the workbench when oiling or even polishing wooden boards …

So I just thought about having a painters cone which uses my workbench dog holes, or which I can also screw to some old board if on a construction site.

My solution was a movable plug in the middle of the cone. For safer and easier printing the plug itself is initially connected to the cone with two little pins. They can easily removed with a cutting knife after printing.

I made a version for 19mm dog holes (plug is about 18.8mm) and a version for 20mm (plug is about 19.8mm), as these two sizes are very common here in Germany. If there are any requests for different sizes, just let me know and I see what I can do :-)

The painting cones are – to a certain amount – even stackable, so you can build a funny christmas tree and save some space in the workshop!

Printing in PLA with 0.2 layer height and 20% infill will do fine. No supports or brim needed.

That will be about 18g or around 6m of PLA … so it's also a nice object for the last few meters on the spool :-)
