| ATLA | Avatar Kyoshi's headdress

| BASIC DESCRIPTION |

• this is a headdress from avatar Kyoshi, as seen in the episode Avatar Day

• the shape and size of various pieces of the headdress is changing throughout the series and even in the episode, but this is an approximation

• the headdress was made to fit on a head diameter of 153 mm approximately, you can scale the model accordingly

| DESIGN DECISIONS |

• it had to be designd so that there are no supports needed, also I made it so that all the parts are snap fitted - no need for glue, any you can easily disassemble it later if you have to

• the parts are made so that they all fit on a standard size beds - the headdress is in parts, but it is cut in a logical way so that the connections are not visible

• I didn't model the side additions, but I may update the model with them included

| PRINT SETTINGS |

• BE CAREFUL WHEN USING THIS 3MF FILE - CHECK WITH YOUR OWN SETTINGS SO YOU DON'T BREAK ANYTHING ON YOUR MACHINE! - i included my 3mf file that I used to print the parts on a Prusa MK3s+ on draft quality settings

• no supports are needed

• General settings:

  • layer height - depends on your preference

  • 5% Cubic infill is enough

  • brim (if you think you need it - i have used it on the fans, but not the other parts)

  • 2-3 perimeters

  • all the parts are oriented

  • Centre stone_base, Centre stone_cap, Right fan and Left fan should be printed (or painted) in light gold colour, while the parts Centre stone_cap2 and Head plate should be printed (or painted) in darker gold (i had only one gold colour so in the pictures it is all uniform)

  • all of the parts can be printed in one go on a Prusa MK3s bed (if you are brave enough)

| ASSEMBLY |

• there are 6 files that you need to print (Centre stone_base, Centre stone_cap, Centre stone_cap2, Right fan, Left fan, Head plate)

• first - make sure that all the parts connect together - if not, clean the holes and connectors

• if it all fits, then you can go on and paint the parts

• for the first part of the assembly you will need the fans and the centre stone - you just slide the fans into the pockets of the centre stone making sure that the holes are alligned

• next, you will need a centre stone_cap part - position it on top of the centre stone_base part

• to connect the parts that we stacked together, we will need a centre stone_cap 2 part. Notice that that part has connectors of different lenghts - longer ones should be on the top part of the holes

• with that all the parts are now losely tied together

• the final part is the head plate - pushing the front cap into the shield you should hear it click into place. Once more, make sure that the longer parts of the connectors are positioned on the top part of the assembly
