Description

Have you ever had an awesome pair of socks with a hole in them, wanted to fix them, watched multiple videos of how to darn a sock, see in the videos they have a darning mushroom, gone to the store to buy darning supplies to find they only have a darning egg, shrug your shoulders and buy it anyway because you want to get to darning, and come to find that the darning egg is completely useless because it's too small to possible stretch any kind of fabric?

The Darning Mushrooom V1 (tDM1) will fix this one very specific problem of yours!

Features:

  • Mushroom shaped!
    • (requested by marketing)
  • Two different stalk and cap options!
    • Mix and match to your heart's content (as long as your heart isn't able to count higher than four)
  • Storage space for needles and rubber bands!
    • None of this "completely solid" business, multi-use tooling is the best

Printing:

All models print as-downloaded. Supports are needed for the stalk and advised for the cap.

  • Layer Height: ≤ 0.2mm
  • Infill: ≥ 5%
  • Supports: Yes, Organic, Build Plate Only

Stalks - have ribs on the bottom to allow for printing without supports, but you will need to paint the supports off the interior if downloading the model. It will technically be the top of the model in the slicer, as it prints upside down to avoid unnecessary supports waste. The gcode has this completed already and you can see it in action with the available 3MF file. The external threads will need to be supported no matter what.

Caps - are advised to have supports but if your printer is dialed in you could probably stand to save a little filament, if you want.

Also be sure to check out the Darning Mushroom v2!
