Description
My sandwich grill's clamping lock broke. Alas. Hence I designed this replacement to hold everything together while making delicious sandwiches.
Printing instructions:
To assemble the two halves, use CA glue (super glue):
You need to remove 6 phillips (cross) screws from the top half of the cucina grill. Then remove the black cover part. The plate lock button will probably come away from the body with the black cover. Make sure not to lose this button or its spring. Before reassembling, put the button back in place on the white body part and make sure the plate lock button activates the plate lock mechanism.
The old/broken clamping lock probably came off on its own, and hopefully you didn't lose its spring, but if you did, you can probably use one from a pen. Insert the spring in the new clamping lock, put the other end of the spring into the divot of the white body of the grill and put the hinge arms of the new clamping lock into their slots on the white body. Now carefully bring the black cover part back into place, aligning it with the plate lock button. Fully close and reinsert the 6 screws you removed previously. It may take a couple of tries to keep the clamping lock spring in place while fiddling with the black cover reassembly. Another set of hands might be helpful.
The new clamping lock needs a bit of force to fully engage in the second locking position, but once engaged, it should not come undone.
