Hardinge HLV Spindle Nose Cap

Designed to protect the spindle nose of Hardinge HLV Lathes. Fits Hardinge 4 deg. spindle taper.

This part is great if you typically use collets, but is easy to remove when it comes time to mount a chuck. It utilizes a brass tip set screw to interface with the bayonet groove in the spindle in the same way that a chuck would mount. This means you can install and remove the cover just like you would a chuck.

This design took nearly 10 iterations to get the spindle taper dimensions and bayonet key position dialed in perfectly. I hope you find this part useful and happy printing!

This part prints well with 0.1mm layer height, 4 walls, 25% infill, without supports, I recommend printing in ABS or PETG.
