Description
We are celebrating as a family for the first time this year and our little one is busy exploring the apartment. The glass Christmas tree ornaments are therefore no longer safe. That's why I printed some ornaments from last year's third place: "Christmas Tree Ornament Set (Vase Mode Prints)" by Popandsicle as a shatterproof alternative. Thank you for the beautiful design!
Unfortunately, I can't get the 1/2" caps needed for the ornaments in Germany, or if I can, then only for a lot of money. So why not print them myself? The caps that came with the model weren't fancy enough for me. So I set about designing beautiful caps myself with lots of ornaments.
Popandsicle has released new ornaments. My caps fit here too!: “Christmas Tree Ornament Set Pt II: The New Batch (Vase Mode Prints)”
Due to its fine detail the cap must be printed with a 0.25mm nozzle to show the details nicely. It is also important that you switch from Arachne to Classic, as I have achieved better results with this. Layer thickness 0.07mm.
I painted the caps gold, which looks really good! I have remixed the hooks from Rob the 3D Printing Dad so that they hold a little better in the ornaments, because they are now longer and stiffer. You can find them here: https://www.printables.com/de/model/680540-ornament-eyelet-longer-version
