Description
Inspired by Henry Moore's Oval with Points series of sculptures, especially the oxidized copper one at Princeton University, I designed* a pair of small speaker stands for desktop-size speakers or studio monitors that lift them off the desktop and tilt them up slightly toward your ears for best audio quality… or just to look nice.
Originally sized for the Audioengine A2, they can be scaled up or down to suit your speaker size. Note that the image of the green/copper painted print is actually only scaled to 80% (since I was printing on an Ultimaker 2 years ago and didn't have the patience to wait for it to print at 100% scale). The black render is shown at original scale vs the A2.
This prints beautifully without supports! There are a number of overhangs and bridges but the angles are such that it will happily print without any supports. (Fun side note, this has also been printed on a Carbon CLIP resin printer.)
*Sculptural form not based on a 3D scan or any measurements of any of the actual Oval with Points sculptures; merely eyeballed from images and then manually shaped.
