Description
A (part of a) 3d printed Mini-Universe for your Christmas tree – or year-round decoration.
Each planet, moon or star is scaled down to an average diameter of 90mm.
That results in a scale of
1 : 141.733.333,3 cm for the Earth
1 : 38.622.222,2 cm for the Moon (of Earth)
1 :Â 75.466.666,6 cm for Mars
1 : 1.588.7111.111,1 cm for Jupiter
1 : 134.482.222,2 cm for Venus
1 : 1.777.777,7 cm for the Death Star
1 : 69.714.285,71 cm for Mercury
I designed a unique box for each celestial body with its planetary symbol, a little window and lots of information (in English and German) about their physical characteristics…for the real geeks out there (including me – obviously). So if you want to gift them to someone, I added the lasercut files, but you could probably also print them out.
Made thanks to the USGS Astrology Science Center and their amazing data available to the general public!
I recommend to print them hollow (no infill), 3 shells, and upside down with a custom cylindrical support enforcer covering the bottom third. I love to see the layerlines, so I ususally use 0.3mm layerheight.
