Snowship Enterprise

I'm a Star Trek fan. So, after designing the Snowflake Millennium Falcon, I had to create a similar ornament in the style of the USS Enterprise. The design is based on the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 Studio Model from Kym Meyers on GrabCAD. The snowflake cutout in the primary hull is based on one of Lia Aramburu's snowflake designs. I changed the original design of the Enterprise to fit to the snowflake cutout. I then split/cut the model into several pieces. 

Printing

No support material is needed for printing. A brim is required/recommended on the Sensor Dish and the Pylons. Check out the 3mf or gcode files, for information on the printing orientation. You could print everything with a 0.4 mm nozzle and a layer height of 0.2 mm. However, I recommend printing with a layer height of 0.1 or 0.15 mm and using a 0.25 mm nozzle for the smaller parts. 

Assembly

There are 19 parts. The assembly is straight forward - if you don't mix the warp drive parts together. I grouped the warp drive parts in the 3mf file and added a letter cutout underneath the main parts (S for starboard, P for port).

If you assemble the warp drive parts the wrong way, you are going to notice it. But no worries. You can disassemble each part. No glue is required! The entire ship is held together through snap fit or conical press fit connections and 3 snap fit Clips. If you struggle with pressing the pylon into the nacelle and/or secondary hull, try to reduce the pylon's width with a knife.
