Description
A small modification of the bearing-less mini wheel by mrplasma (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4498704) which is based on the pixel2 design (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3049220).
I noticed that in the original design the short and off-center guide sometimes caused binding and uneven resistance when rotating the wheel. In the modification that I made the guide and the rack longer and symmetrical for smoother operation and it proved to work very well.
Because of the longer rack it may be a bit difficult to press the X button when the wheel is turned all the way to the right, but in practice it has never been an issue for me.
The frame of this model is intended for the Third Generation (2016) of Xbox one controllers.
Print settings
Print all the parts in the provided orientation. Supports are required only for the frame.
The only modified parts are frame_long.stl and rack_long.stl, so if you have already printed the original design you can re-use the other parts.
For more detailed print and assembly instructions check out the original designs.
Additional
The steering wheel can also be used with the 3D printed paddles fox Xbox controller for easy gear shifting or clutch/handbrake.
