Description
I really love the original design that Kutzaray published. He even took inspiration from another (https://www.printables.com/model/8332-silica-gel-universal-spool-box). The design is a little too small for my spools but is easily adjusted in the slicer for the x/y dimensions. I measure the hole in my spool and make the diameter about 1mm larger. This lets the flaps flex enough to enter the hole but tight enough to secure it inside.
However, some of my spools are cardboard and I use a spool adapter to fit in my AMS. Also, even some plastic spools are thin. I sometimes push the cylinder too far and pass the edge. Since the cap doesn't have the flaps this caused an issue.
Well, I modified the cap design to also have flaps, the same size as the cylinder. Now, when the cap is on it can be turned so its flaps match the cylinder and the assembly looks like a cylinder with flaps all the way up the side.
I am including two stl files, one with the original 49.67mm diameter and one with a 55mm diameter that fits my Bambu spools. I have others but it is just as easy for anyone to measure their spool hole diameters and add the approximately 1mm (I recommend no more than 1 mm) in their slicer. If by chance someone cannot do that then send me a message and I will gladly make whatever size you need.
I am only including the caps, you will need to download the cylinder from the original site. However, I would appreciate a make here.
