Description

Add some holiday vibes with this Light Up HoHoHo sign.

This is an assembly, that is printed in parts and then glued and snap fit together. There are a lot of parts in the Printable but you do not need all of them. One Set is for multi-material printers like the Bambu AMS and Prusa MMU. The other set is for standard printers.

Steps

  1. Print all the frames in black PLA
  2. Print all the H inserts in the colors of your choice. I chose Red Green White. Note: the red and green inserts (H1 and H2) have a thinner face to allow more light transmission.
  3. Print the O inserts
    1. For Multi-Color Printers use the files named “mmu_ams.”
Note: When you open one of the O's in Bambu slicer or Prusa slicer right-click on the object in the list and click “separate into parts.” This will make colorization way easier.
    2. For Non-multi-color printers, use the separated parts versions and print the pieces independently. You will then glue them to the appropriate O insert.
  4. Glue all the frames together using CA glue, and CA accelerator. I find putting them on a workbench and pressing them together helps alignment.
  5. Run Leds through the inside, and I recommend tacking spots with hot glue to ensure the LED strip does not come loose
  6. Install the Power Switch and wire up the LED's. I use USB cords to power this as I used 5V LEDs, you can use 12V or whatever you like. Or you can skip lights altogether.
  7. Press fit the inserts into the frames. Be careful it is a tight fit and this is by design, just push them slowly and evenly.

Enjoy! Happy Holidays 🎅🎄
