Description

Yet another FanDuct for Titan Aero. Uses the fan holder by GaryK47 and standard 50mm blower.

I tried bunch of duct's available and they all blow air all around and are not focusing air properly, I tried modifying some of them but finally gave up and made one from scratch, it's as ugly as they come but works surprisingly well. It requires heater block to be in line with the aluminum heat sink of the Aero. If you screw on your heater block and it's at the angle, loosen your nozzle a bit, turn heat block to be parallel to the alu heat sink (so wires go towards motor or towards heat sink fan, not to the side) and then tighten your nozzle.

  • print
  • push the fan duct into your blower
  • attach blower to the fan holder
  • print happy

prints easily without support both in PETG and ABS. I doubt PLA would work well for fan duct so I never tried it myself but if you do please update comments on how well it performs printed in PLA :D I personally doubt PLA will work ok as the fan duct surrounds the heat block so I fear PLA would get soft and bend.

V2 allows for easier cable management and is little lighter

source available as always on onshape

p.s. the white grid on top of the replaced fan (this is sunone maglev that's super quiet with high air troughput) is thing:2335067 printed in TPU, between fan and heat sink is same thing scaled in Z also printed in TPU, it should make the flow from fan more laminar but is in reality printed 'cause I don't have screws of right size so for using longer screws I added this 7mm "distancer" ... also the white pieces on the part blower fan are also just a fat TPU washers I printed as screws are too long :)

Post-Printing

middle hole

if your heater block is oriented as one on my pictures, melt a piece of filament (or use a piece of tape or..) and close the small hole in the middle between the arms as in this orientation that hole does not do anything useful (and might even do harm), the middle hole should remain open if your heater block is 180 degrees from what my pictures show
