Description
This is inspired by, but not derived from, the indicators here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2638857
Uses a 1/4" x 1/8" round magnet ($0.90 each as of posting) from McMaster-Carr: https://www.mcmaster.com/5862K103/
The magnet press fits into the sleeve, and on many steppers should fit fairly loose in the end hole (made on and works with Prusa motors, tested on a couple others I have around)
Printer Brand:
Prusa
Printer:
I3 MK3S
Rafts:
No
Supports:
No
Resolution:

Infill:
Any / none
Filament: Matterhacker Color Change PLA Quantum Raspberry-Gold
Notes:
This is a fun build for the "color shifting" filaments, as you can watch the colors shift as it turns!
Assembly
Press magnet into sleeve and attach to end shaft of NEMA 17 (~40mm housing) motor.
Layout hexagon grid in Adobe Illustrator (easy to do in Inkscape and Corel Draw as well!) then export to a .SVG file
Import SVG to Fusion360 as a sketch, and extrude the shape, and scale if needed.
Attach (join) a simple hollow cylinder made in Fusion to fit the magnet.
Export (Fusion360 "utilities" tab / MAKE) to STL.
And you're done!
