Honda Fit Adjustable Cup Holder (and Pen Holder)

PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS AS CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE.

In the 2020 Honda Fit hatchback, there are two small spaces near the handbrake that have little use but to toss junk. I have created an adjustable cup holder and pen holder to better use this space. The base is hollow so it can be filled with some weight (like fishing weights, epoxied in place).

Not all Honda Fits have these empty spaces, some have accessories. But if yours looks like the photo I have included that have one or two of the empty spaces, you can use this to make it easier to grab your beloved beverage cup. It is much better than the two provided cup holders hidden underneath the dash where they are hard to reach. The pen holder plate is a nice extra.

ERRATA: The Slider Knob bolt should be 1-inch long, not ¾-inch long.

ADDED CHANGES AS OF 2/28/2024: I have replaced two parts, the Slider Base and Slider Bar, with a single piece. Also, I replaced the Slider Knob with one which is easier to grip and turn.

ADDED CHANGE AS OF 4/19/2025: I have replaced the Cup Grip with one that is less likely to snag cup handles. The “wings” now gradually connect with the riser allowing the handle to slide off rather than snag. Note that the fit is tight so have patience.
