Parametric Cable Organiser

Inspired by https://www.printables.com/model/122378-cable-organizer-cable-clip

I liked this design but:

• I want to organise larger cables (e.g HDMI, mains leads)
• I have cables of different lengths
• I want the clip to stay with the cable when unwound (so I don't lose it)

I designed this from scratch in OpenScad, based on the design linked above.

This is a parameterised model. You can choose:

• the cable diameter you have
• how many loops of cable you are trying to hold
• the height of the clip
• the overall width
• if you want a 'clip' to attach to the cable when unwound
• a modified design if you are using flex filament

With this you can now get a customised clip for each cable, that fits it perfectly.

There is also a checkbox if you want to used TPU/TPE or any flexible filament. In this case the thickness is increased and the cable gap is reduced. Uncheck this if you are using PLA / PETG.

To use, open the .scad file in OpenScad. Ensure the customizer is showing (menu → Windows → Customizer), then enter the measurements for your cable.

There are limits when you increase the cable size/loops; if you get an error, increase the width, as there needs to be enough width to fit all loops.

This prints very easy on its side, no support needed.
