Description
3-Piece adapter set to allow the use of 35mm film in a medium format camera. It includes the top and bottom adapters for a 35mm film roll, as well as a take-up spool. This set allows you to expose the sprocket holes on 35mm film for an interesting effect, and you can also use films that are otherwise unavailable in the 120 format. If used in a 6x9 medium format camera, you can get very wide negatives.
To use the set, simply affix the small adapters onto the top and bottom of the film roll, then wind some of the film onto the take-up spool. If the film doesn't want to stay on the take-up spool, you can use some masking tape to hold it in place. The film can now be loaded into the medium format camera. If the camera has a frame counter window on the back of it, this should be covered with some opaque tape, otherwise the images will produce an orange circle in their center.
For each frame, wind the camera about one and a half turns when beginning a roll, and about one and a quarter turns when nearing the end of the roll of film. The film then needs to be rewound back into its canister in complete darkness, or a second adapter set can be used with an empty 35mm film canister on the take-up side. If you are getting the film developed at a lab, specify that the film should not be cut. One roll of 35mm film (36 exposures), produces about 22 exposures in a 6x6 medium format camera.
