Description

I wanted to show off some nostalgic pro boards but didn't want to put a hole in the wall or spend $40 per board on commercial options.  I designed this wall mount to use 3M strips and hold new and old-school decks.

Hardware

  1. *M5 5.8x7.1mm Threaded Inserts
  2. *M5 16mm Button Head Screws
  3. *XL Heavyweight Command Strips

Print Settings

I printed in Jessie PLA at a .28mm layer height and using 20% infill. The board has been holding fine for **a year.

Assembly Tips

Don't tighten beyond finger tight. Overtightening may cause the threaded insert to break out of the cavity.

Hanging Tips

  1. Mark where you want the center of the tail to be on your wall with a dry-erase marker.
  2. Put a piece of painter's tape on your tail to indicate the center of it.
  3. Mount the deck to the mounts.
  4. Apply your adhesive strip to the mount.
  5. Let it set for 20 minutes.
  6. Attach your two adhesive strips and press on your wall, following your centerline guides.
  7. Remove the board from the mount, but let the mount remain attached to the wall.
  8. Press the mount to the wall to ensure an even strip application.
  9. Let it set for 20 minutes.
  10. Re-attach the board to the mount.
  11. Eat a Haribo ;)

There are two versions of the mount. The difference is how far the board sits from the wall. This offset is indicated in the file description.

Solution Effectiveness

**My boards have been secured to my wall for over a year now. But, depending on the weight of your board and the quality of your 3M strips or other application methods YMMV. I'm not responsible if your boards fall off your wall and damage something. If you want any sort of guarentee, buy a commercial product ya ding dong.
