Description
Mix and combine colors to create your colorful Peppermint Christmas Tree Ornaments. I took inspiration from JamesThePrinter's design and wanted to expand on all the variations of candy I had seen on the internet.
The ornaments measure 60mm in diameter and 12mm thick. I created the eyelet for hanging the ornament flat so it does not need support. But wait, I bet you are wondering if the ornament will rotate once hung on the tree and then you will only see the side. Not if you print and use my 90 - Degree Christmas Ornament Hook.
The one thing I wanted to improve upon about JamesThePrinter was the tolerances. When I tried to combine the two halves, they would not slide together without using flat-face pliers. The pliers damage all the faces of the ornaments. In my design, I set the tolerances to .12mm. The two pieces slide together with a slight friction fit.
I designed these ornaments in Fusion 360 and printed them on my Bambu Lab P1P and Creality K1 Max. If your 3D printer is not tuned and the two pieces are too loose, you could use glue to glue the parts together.
***Warning - please be careful when removing the Spiral Insert from the build plate. Where the spirals meet in the center is a little fragile. I would not recommend using a spatula to remove it because you risk damaging the spirals.***
