Latch for Dyson dc08

Recently, the latch of my friend's Dyson dc08 broke, so he searched for a replacement part of the otherwise totally functional vacuum. However, you may only buy the whole handle assembly, not just the latch, on top of being out of stock everywhere.

So we glued the broken part back together, took some measurements and now have a functional replacement part that prints with minimal support and does the job quite well.
You could further tune the part to match the originals appearance closer, round some corners, etc. (using the included step/Fusion 360 File), but since we hadn't the Dyson with us, only the broken part, it was good enough for us.

Printing

The part is a 3 part assembly, where the bolts are printed in a different orientation than the latch. This ensures they are strong and won't break of easily. Just print the parts in the orientation shown in the gcode-file, add some support to the latch (as shown in the gcode-file) and then push the bolts in place. You'll probably need a hammer to gently push them all the way in, but they do fit well and require no glue. If your printer needs tighter or looser tolerances, feel free to adjust them in Fusion.

I'd recommend to not print in PLA, as the part will probably slowly deform when using PLA and is prone to UV light. I used PETG myself, which worked out really well. I'd suggest to use an increased number of walls (5 is probably a reasonable amount) to give the part the needed strength.
