Description
I bought a set of heat set inserts with replaceable tips and I wanted a case for them with printed labels for each tip. I wanted an attractive case that would reliably stay closed, have an integrated lid, and make it easy to remove all the tips.
There are three models included here.
Latch A has a press-to-open latch
Latch B has a simpler mechanism but has less tolerance for printer-to-printer variance.
The final version has no latch to make remixing easier.
The labels are set up for multi-color printing. They're placed parallel to the build plate and near the bottom of the model so as to minimize the number of filament changes needed to print the model. The font used is Atkinson Hyperlegible
Note: Consider using a higher temperature material (PETG, ABS, PC, etc) for this print if you think you might use multiple tips in quick succession.
This is the set I designed this case for:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09VL41T7K/
It consists of a soldering iron insert and a series of tips that screw onto the insert.
There are a couple variations on this set. The tips in this set have approximately the following dimensions:
Nozzle: 0.4mm
Layer height: 0.2mm
Walls: 3 or more
Infill: I'm using 20% adaptive cubic but pretty much any setting would work here.
