Z-Screw Cover Mod (MK3S+)

I used the stl model “z-screw-cover.stl” (Z-Axis) from @Prusa3D. I Scaled down the original cone 99.5%. The rest of the cone has been turned into a cylinder.

Reason for Creation

The scaling strengthens the parts hold on the acme screw to prevent slipping and locking up on the motor. The cylindrical shape prevents more dust from falling into the motor space. The lines add a visual representation of the printer motion.

Personal Printer Settings

Layer height: 0.10mm
Infill: 15%
Infill Pattern: Grid
Top Fill Pattern: Rectilinear
Top Solid Layer: 8
Bottom Fill Pattern: Rectilinear
Bottom Solid Layer: 7

How to replace:

1. Print with the lines facing down
2. Can print both at the same time (I didn't because I was troubleshooting the scale at the same time)
3. Move the Z-Axis all the way up.
4. Unscrew the Z-axis-top from the left side
5. Unscrew the left side motor from the Z-axis-bottom
6. Twist the Acme screw to release it from the X-Axis Assembly
7. Remove the default z-screw-cover
8. Install the new z-screw-cover (Leave cover high)
9. Twist the Acme screw back onto the X-Axis Assembly
10. Reinstall the screws on the Z-Axis Top and Z-Axis Bottom
11. Twist the the new z-screw-cover until flush with the Z-axis-bottom
12. Repeat with other side
