QIDI X-Max 3 Magnetic Printhead-Backcover

Designed a magnetic backcover for the printhead, that can be used with the original Printhead without further modification.

I keep the original style and dimensions as good as possible. Only the hole for the usb-cable is bigger, cause i got already some dents in my cable from the original cover.

For the backcover use the original four bolts an bolt them completly in without the old cover (the magnets attach to the bolts).

For this design you will need four magnets in size: diameter = 6mm , height =3mm.

For example: 6x3 neodym

Be aware of your cables, its quite a mess under the cover and you have to sort them to make the cover fit.

• Added 2 versions with more slots
• Added V4 with increased side wall thickness

Printinstruction:

Printed the cover laying flat and added a filament switch after the magnet height, so that you can insert the magnets during printing (on the inserted magnets i added some gluestick for better adhesion). 

Printed with supports only on bed (otherwise the magnethole will be filled) and brim added.

Printed in ASA with 0,2mm layer height, with qidi 0,2mm strength profile, 25%infill. Pause was at layer 47 with this setting.

!!For print don't use a hardened steel nozzle. The magnets will attach to it!!
