Description

I had the problem that I occationally get poop ending up back on the build plate and the chute clogging from filament cought by the flap. Looking around for possible solutions I came across two models:

  1. @z3d's Purge Chute Extention
  2. Downhill_Solutions' Poop Pop Stop over on Makerworld

Although both solutions mitigated the problems somewhat, they were designed to adress only one problem at a time and were incompatible. The chute extension was great at avoiding filament getting caught by the flap and causing clogs, the poop stop did a very good job in reliably getting the poop off the nozzle and avoiding it to get slung back on the plate. I wanted a solution to do both.

I remixed the chute extention to work inside the poop stop and did some motifications to the latter to allow for free movements of the flap. I also widened the opening of the poop stop and removed some internal structure as the flap now does that job.

Print settings:

  • For best performance print in Material that accepts higher temperatures like ABS or ASA.
  • Use at least 3 walls and 3 top-/bottom layers
  • You'll need some supports at the front part of the cover.
  • Use a wide brim with the flap
  • Other than that, default settings should work fine.

Disclaimer: It works great for me, yet it may not work for everyone.People have reported that will most likely not work perfectly if you're using the first layer inspection as the nozzle position is different there and you will get poop in the gap between the wiper and the poop stop. If you're not using FLI you should be fine. I'm not responsible for any damage you do to your printer. It might work for the P1 series aswell but I couldn't test that. Print and install at your own risk.

Other than that: have fun!

Thanks to @z3d and Downhill_Solutions for their great work!!! Make sure you check out their work!
