Description
These holders hang from the XL's side extrusions to store your extra Nextruder nozzles. When the nozzle is in an extruder, the holder becomes a label that clips on to the extruder to remind you which nozzle is currently in use.
The .3mf file has all the possible nozzle types. Load it, then delete the instances you don't need (or duplicate if you need more). Be sure to check you've got your preferred colours chosen in the right extruder. (I chose black on orange for brass nozzles and orange on black for ObXidian.)
The dots on the top of the holder represent the dots you'll see on the nozzle.
If using the .STL files in PrusaSlicer, you'll need to ADD both the xxx_Holder.stl and the xxx_Letters.stl files at the same time. Click “Yes” when the warning appears:
Multi-part object detected
Multiple objects were loaded for a multi-material printer.
Instead of considering them as multiple objects, should I consider
these files to represent a single object having multiple parts?
This way the holder and the label will combine into a single two-colour object.
Use PETG, PLA might be too stiff to clip onto the extruder. I used 0.15mm layer height and 0.40mm nozzles.
Be careful when mounting or removing the label from the extruder. It clips on to the idler block and it is possible to accidently loosen the idler.
I've included a STEP file if you want to make one with your own label.
