Fully 3D Printed Quail Cage (No Supports)

Double Cage: You will need Cage Front (x1), Cage Back (x1), Cage Lid (x2), Corner Foot (x4), & Center Foot (x2). The Cage Front & Cage Back are glued (CA or Super Glue) together. Then glue the feet onto the four corners and center. Lastly, it is recommended but not required to, glue one lid onto only the back half of the cage allowing the front lid to still be removable for access (This make the whole cage more rigid and stable).  

Cube Cage: You will need Cube Cage(x1), Cage Lid (x1), & Corner Foot (x4). for the Cube Cage, all you need to do is glue the feet onto the four corners. 

The cages can be placed over or on top of a small pan filled with wood chips or shredded paper to catch the droppings. This allows all their “mess” to fall through the floor grates keeping quail feet clean and the birds happy. 

The food and water can be on either side and are separated in the middle but the large divider in the middle. Once you add water to one side you will see what I mean and it becomes fairly self explanatory. Please wash out the water/drinking portion regularly. I would recommend doing it weekly or the water can get a little funky. Luckily the entire cage can be easily sprayed off with a garden hose or cleaned under a faucet.  

Also, the Cube Cage cage was never intended to be a long term housing solution for a quail. I originally designed it when I had an injured male quail that, due to eye swelling after getting into a fight with another male, was unable to see where his food and water was. He was randomly pecking around but couldn't find his food or water. Once he was in the Cube Cage he quickly found the food and water after a short search and was able to make a full recovery. After he was able to see again, I designed the larger Double Cage and moved him into that cage. Unfortunately, he was not able to be reintroduced back into his flock as every time I tried they immediately went back to fighting. He does spend most of his time in the Double Cage now but gets let out regularly to stretch his wings and take sand baths. Long story short, please be kind to your quail and give them enough space to be happy. Just because they can fit in something small doesn't mean that they should.
