Description
A simple basket for cutlery, or other long objects like pens, etc.Â
If you align the segments you have 2 groupings. Change orientation to form 4 or more groupings.
Why
I wanted to create something that was easy to print and modular. Also should be easy to clean if dirt falls in, since you can un-stack them.
Also fun, it's easy to use multiple colors.
How to print
Very simple print, with no support required and few hard corners. I went for speed, so ‘draft' mode, and after the first layer I turned the dial to print at 200% speed.
I printed with PETG, but should also work with PLA.Â
You probably want to print these files:
- 1 x Stacklery-floor-square-center-v3
- 4 x Stacklery-segment-square-center-v3
You can also stretch the models in the slicer, but be aware that the pins need to still fit in the holes of the other segment or floor.
Potential post processing
You can use glue if you want to be able to pick up the basket from the top. On request I can try to come up with a smarter way attach the segments so no glue is needed.
Updates
After my print I made these updates:
- Slightly higher edge at floor to keep the cutlery on board.
- A variant with square center to lock the orientation.
- Option to have floor with plus-shaped edges (v3).
- Spacer segments for the next segment to lean on, to save filament and provide a different look.Â
I have not printed these versions myself yet, but they have the same tolerances and should work.
Update March 2024:
- Added higher wall options for floor pieces with inner walls.
Possible future updates
- Segment that directly makes 4 groupings.
- Segment that makes 3 groupings.
- Nice patterns on the sides.
Love to hear your thoughts on improvements.
