Polymaker PC-Max Black

Notes:

You should use PC or ABS for this. Even PETG might get scary if the processor gets hot enough. DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT PLA.

Oh... and if you print in ABS try to account for shrinkage. Will probably need to go to 101 or 102% scaling.

Post-Printing

You will need the following for this:
4 - M3x10mm button head screws. You need their slim profile to fit under the motherboard
4 - DIN562 Thin Square M3 nuts (had to use the thin ones because of the heatsink profile and the square ones have much better grip in this situation)

Instructions:

  1. Insert the nuts into the slots on the inside of each bracket. Make sure you push them all the way to the back and check alignment with the hole from the bottom.
  1. Remove all the stock hardware from heatsink (yes all of it. Especially anything with a screw.
  1. Slide the brackets onto the sides of the heatsink lips.(Note: The shorter side with the exposed nut in the slot should be closest to the heat pipes.)
  1. Thread the screws from the back of the motherboard until they are about 1-2mm above the board
  1. Place the headsink and brackets on the cpu and align with the screws. While holding the heatsink, start each of the screws. Because we are going thread to thread here, it is important that you give the heatsink a little pressure against the proc.
  1. Finish the screws in a cross pattern corner to corner.
