Description
I needed a special present for my cousin's 18th birthday and i also wanted to try printing lithophanes :)
It's a multiple-part print.
EDIT: i added a 2-part print.
Bottom, Pillar and Lid printed with Spectrum PLA Rust Copper,
using a 0.6mm nozzle, and if i remember right, 0.2mm layers and a slighly higher outer perimeter-width.
I suggest using a 0.4mm nozzle, 0,15mm layers and 10-20% infill.
Bottom: Supports needed for inlets for the feet. Two threaded inserts (M4) for fastening the lamp.(not really neccessary - you can add bodies in Prusa Slicer and close the holes. You can also cut new holes this way i guess.
Pillar: You may add a brim if you feel unsave :) Both sides have holes for threaded inserts M5
Cableplug and Feet: No supports needed. Printed with Recreus Filaflex 82A
Screw: No supports needed. I had no hex-screws, thatswhy it's a cylindrical hole. (Prusa Slicer can help you here, too). I glued the screw into the “Screw-part” with superglue.
You might need to shorten some screws, i'm not sure :) I used, what i had. I can shorten stuff and i didn't think of offering this model at that time.
I made the lithophanes with: https://itslitho.com
Material for the lithophanes: E-Sun PLA+ WHITE (there's also a Cold-White…don't use it, I tried. It absorbs most of the light). I also tried DasFilament PLA Weiß, which was even better than the E-Sun PLA+, but i only had material for 1 Lithophane left :(
Settings I used for my lithophanes.
The 3,2mm thickness might be a little too low for a lithophane this size…but you could compensate this by setting the right contrast/lighting settings. It's also depending on what material you use, so you have to try…maybe it's just my pictures.
The frame was added after in MeshMixer…but you dont have to add one. It will fit as long as it doesn't exceed the 3.2mm too far. It wont be fastened, though, if your lithophane's border left and right is too slim, but that shouldn't matter much, if you don't carry this thing around all day. You might even be able to fix this by just pushing the pillars a little towards the centre of the lantern, while fastening the screws…no guarantee.
Threaded inserts: M5

The cable was a standard-cable, please check the pictures for the cable_plug
There are a few circles of 0,5mm holes. They are for stabilisation (perimeters in slicer)
Decoration: 0,25mm nozzle suggested…i couldn't find mine :/
