Description
If you got the Prusa XL 2T (i.e., with 2 tool heads), then you will likely also experience a very annoying rattling sound when x and y axes are engaged together during printing. This could get so loud, I was not able to print during the night, and it was annoying to watch TV next to it.
After a lot of checking, I finally found the culprit: the metal strip in the metal frame part where the tool/print heads are screwed in is loose on the end where you don't have the other 3 print heads installed, and at certain frequencies it starts to resonate and rattle against the metal frame.
There is a quick and effective fix: just print the dampeners here and use the spare M3x12rT screws to screw these in the same way you would otherwise install the additional 3 tool heads, using the torque screw driver provided with the XL. See pictures.
