Monolith Speaker Stand Funnel

Wanted to fill my Monolith speaker stands, the four post hollow metal ones, with some sand to add some additional weight to the bottoms and get whatever acoustic benefits it might impart. It's kind of an awkward top to get a standard funnel into and didn't want something I would have to worry about falling out or making a mess while I scooped 50 pounds of sand. So this funnel fits over each post like a sleeve and goes around the varying size welds in each post. Aimed for fairly light on filament use, since this is likely a single use item for most folks, but didn't want to go so thin it might crack if it didn't print perfectly (and while filled with material to spill everywhere).

Designed this to be printed large side down with no supports. I would recommend a brim, printed it without but it was definitely ready to let go by the end of the print since it's a very small surface area. I've included a short and tall version, the tall is the original version that I used but was definitely overkill. The sand drains so fast through it that it wasn't necessary to have a funnel nearly that large. The small version should cut print time around 30-40% and height by about half without significantly reducing the opening to add material. I didn't test the small version since my stands were already filled at that point, but it's just a shorter version with no functional changes.

Pro-tip: seal the bottom of each post with a glue or sealant that will bond to metal before filling. There's enough gap that folks have mentioned that material will make its way out of the posts over time otherwise.
