Description
These 5FFG's (5 Face Radius gauges) are a ripper!
The gauge I was using struggles to make accurate inside (concave) fillet measurements. In the end the gauge allowed me to only approximate the dimension and it was guesses and test prints from there. With these 5FFGs I can get an accurate dimension so fewer test prints make Mother Earth happy, and me more productive.
Allows convex and concave radius measurements even in tight spaces.
OpenSCAD Script that generates a nifty 5 face radius gauge. Its unique shape allows access in tight corners.
Can be printed normally with several top and bottom layers, or can be printed with no top and bottom layers exposing the infill created by the slicer. The size is written in a stencilised font so no worry about missing pieces of letters.
For bonus points you can make the font depth some multiple of your layer height but thinner than the gauge and have some infill behind the number.
The Cylincilo stencil font is included, Un-ZIP Cylincilo.ttf into the same folder as "fillet_gauge_1.0.scad"
Default units are millimetres, the script will easily adapt to freedom units or most any other unit. See comments in the script.
Change Log:
Fixed: Misalignment on the concave 90° inside the elbow caused by too few faces in the curves. A full set of new STL's have been generated. Thanks to Cincijeff for showing me the problem.
Fixed: Python script, now will correctly produce STL's with 2 decimal places eg 2.25
// end Change Log
Coming very soon - Braille version.
