Reinforced IKEA ALEX drawer

Easy and relative inexpensive way to reinforce your IKEA ALEX drawer. Needed if you use the drawer to organise screws etc.

The connector is made to fit with GAH-Alberts 474409 aluminium U-profil 20x10 mm. Cost 4 Euro/1 meter at Amazon.

As you can adjust the length of the profile you can probably use the same parts to reinforce other type of drawers.

Print settings

Layer height: 0.2

Perimeters: 4

Infill: 20% for the connector and 10% for the drill template and saw jig.

No support needed.

Assembly

Pre-drill 2mm holes using the drill template on both sides. Cut the alu. u-profile to correct length (inner dimension minus two connectors (8mm)) using the saw jig to easy get a straight cut with a hacksaw.
Assemble with 4 countersunk 3,5x16 screws per drawer.
