Printed using 3D Solutech See Through Red PLA for the base layers and Prusament Galaxy Black PLA for the top layers. With the light on, these colors produce a cracked lava effect.
The main pieces of this lamp shade are printed flat and then thermoformed using a heat gun and a paint can.
Print 1 each of each shade piece at 0.2mm layer height with color swap at 1mm.
Print 1 each of the top connector and the bottom connector.
Print 16 of the pins (brim is recommended).
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat up the shade pieces until they start to become flexible and form them over a paint can (or another similarly round object). Hold each piece on the paint can until it cools off enough to hold it's shape.
Use the pins to attach each shade piece to the top and bottom connectors. Make sure the pieces are in the correct orientation (the top of the shade pieces is slightly narrower than the bottom)
Feed the light fixture cord (plug end first) through the assembled shade from bottom to top. The lampshade hangs on a Pendant Lamp Fixture.
