Description
I've slowly acquired a pile of Apple Watch bands (most of which are off-brand, don't worry I didn’t waste my money haha). But after seeing them all piled up I decided they needed a better home. Thus, I've created a tiny little coat hanger to fit the straps and a convenient wall mount to hold them.
Checkout the short build video below to see the design process and how my first attempt didn't work as well as V2, but did look interesting….
To print the hangers themselves I recommend using snug support material (as loaded in the downloadable files) which is only required to hold together the slit. This slit is where the watch bands will actually slide into. To remove the support material I found using a small screwdriver or metal pointing tool works well!
Single hanger print time is down to ~14mins on my MK3.9, so you can run off quite a few of these in no time.
I've also provided two options for the hanging mounts (both of which are designed to be used with 8mm smooth rods). Option 1 is a simple “modern” look, while option 2 is a bit more “alien” with some geometry optimization being done.
Hope this design treats you well! I'm interested to see your prints.
