Description
I bought this tripod nearly 30 years ago and it survived a career of field use and bouncing around under the back seat of my pickup. Recently I misplaced the head adapter and learned that it had long ago been discontinued (of course). I did find a photo online with a couple of measurements that I already had but it helped to position the screw hole correctly. For the screw I used a 5/8" thread length 1/4-20 thread size hex head bolt that is slotted for a Phillips driver.
It took a few iterations to get the slot dimensions correct, especially with the tight tolerances needed. Please keep in mind that different types and even brands of filament may have different shrinkage rates so a perfect fit is not guaranteed. That being said, if you happen to print this and it doesn't fit, just scale it up or down a percent or two and it should work fine.
I printed mine from ZYLtech Matte Black PLA and the pad is printed from ZYLtech Black TPU. Printed on my S1Pro equipped with Zuff cooling and with a 0.4mm Diamondback nozzle at 0.28mm layer height (for strength). I glued the TPU cushion on with CA glue.
