Description
Mostly 3D printed low RPM 6 inch disc diamond lap for sharpening carbides or other tools.
Spindle will work best if machined from aluminum or steel. But worked fine as a printed part during the prototyping.
Follow instructions for the motor speed controller for wiring. Basic motor / switch / mains / power supply knowledge is necessary.
Print PETG 2 or 3 walls, 15% infill. Loading and RPM is very low, so heavy wall thickness is not needed.
Requires following parts:
12V 80W DC Motor Speed Controller PWM
6 Inch Diamond Coated flat lap wheel or equivalent
6 inch x ½" Lap base disc for flat wheels. You can embed magnets to hold the diamond wheel onto this disc, or use some light adhesive.
60T GT2 Pulley. One must be drilled out for the main spindle.
60GA775 DC12V Geared Motor or equivalent. 200 or 300RPM.
15A On/Off Power Socked w/ fuse.
½ x 1-1/8 x 5/16 R8-2RS roller bearings
