Description
So I have these ski pants with no pockets and cheap metal buckles that always turn sideways. I decided to make a better buckle and then I realized I also had the opportunity to add some cool extra features onto it so that I could carry around some writing implements as well. They're very accessible this way and at just the right height where they're out of the way but easy to grab.
There are two versions of the buckle, the alpha and the beta. The newer dated file is the more advanced version. The 3mf file also has special printing attributes that create a very strong part with zero infill and 100% loops. The apertures fit 27mm straps. And the pencil/pen clips fit standard 8mm shafts. The beta print takes 31m4s and uses 11.42g of filament.
2024-01-22-08-47 Made some small quality-of-life tweaks to the model: added an additional slot (like the prototype) and added small retaining mechanism to keep the pencils/pens from slipping out.
2025-02-17 Made some pretty big improvements, it's like a whole new thing now practically. Interlocks keep the sides together, both stronger and more secure (straps won't slip anymore). Created modular ports for the clips, so different types can be swapped out, or if one breaks it can be replaced. Redesigned the clips so that they work much better for a larger variety of pens/pencils/tools now. Thanks for your patience.
