EKWB supremacy block for AMD AM4 AM5 adapter mount

Intro

I have an old but capable EKWB supremacy copper acetal cpu waterblock, but doesn't have AM4 mounts, only AM3. In the first 3 years of use I used the block modding the AM3 mounting plate like the photo shown, with washers, but was difficult to mount, when upgrade the cpu I decided to solve this.

Designed and printed this adapter, you will see the fan holder, finally I don't use it because changed the motherboard in the process (4+2 vs 12+2 vrm and not needed active cooling)

Used by 6 months without any deformation, if you follow my print instructions you will not have any problem. Used with 5900X with 200W PPT.

Before you continue: You need to cut the adapter like the photo to allow the screws pass.

May be compatible with other EKWB waterblocks if it have 61x61mm top.

Printing instructions and materials

Use 3MF version due Fusion 360 exports in better quality in this format, STL version its if you use a rare slicer that can't open standard 3MF files.

Adapter mount

• The adapter is mandatory to print in ABS or ASA if you have to much warping, some warping its permissible due the design takes in consideration this.
• 5 perimeters is enough, 15-20% infill
• Avoid PLA !!!!, not enough temperature resistant, PETG with 6-7 perimeters can withstand along you don't push the water temperatures to high and block not pass 55-60ºC, remember that mounting plate is touching the copper.
• Avoid PA6-CF, has to much material creep, PA12-CF may be okay if you tested previusly if doesnt have much material creep.
• PA-GF30 or more it's okay if you want some exotic material.
• Bambu users, 200mm/s with 250ºC and hardened nozzle not provide good layer adhesion, remember, Quality ≠ Strength.
• Prototype (Silver) was printed in PETG, survived without deformations with 180-190W of heat during 9 hours, and 20-30 hours of gamming. Final print was in ABS (gray)

Fan holder, nut holder, spring holder

• Can be printed in PETG.
• 3 perimeters its fine

Parts & Bom

You can reuse your old mounting hardware, if not, you will need the following.

• 6 M3 square nuts (8 if you use the fan mount)
• 2x M3x12mm screws to fix the metal plate to the adapter mount. (not mandatory, but help to the assembly)
• 4x M3x40 or 4x M3x50 screws (pick the lengh you need)
• Washers, if you don't use the spring holder you need to put at least one washer to protect the printed piece of wear that can make the spring
• 4x Springs (I reused mine from my waterblock), do not mount without springs
• 1x 80mm fan if you want to use to cool the vrm (remember to mount the adapter with the long hole facing the vrm.
• 2x40mm screws if you want to use the fan holder.

Mounting instructions

1. Modify the metal plate of the waterblock (check the photo)
2. If you want to use the fan holder insert two M3 square nuts in the adapter mount.
3. Fit the adapter mount to the block, with the two M3x12 screws and two M3 square nuts
4. Put in place the square nuts in the nut holder, put the cover on top and glue (one drop in each side is sufficient), this part its only used to help in the assembly and hold the nuts in place.
5. Put the waterblock in place, to help in the assembly mount two corners without spring to hold in place the nut holder
6. Put the other two corners with screw + spring
7. Remove the corners without spring and replace with screw+spring
8. Fit your fan holder

4,5,6 it's needed if you feel the spring are to hard to push.

Fake remixes and other stuff

Any remix its prohibited by default, because the abuse of “the other platform" users that upload fake remixes or simply laminate for “the other” slicer and upload without any mention or even removes the creator signature and upload as theirs.

These prints will be uploaded in “the other platform” to protect me against thieves.
