Description
The model consists of 3 parts, the outer ring, the insert plate and the insert ratchet. The ratchet part should be first pressed/snapped into the plate in the least engaged position (engaging is clockwise). After this, the plate with the ratchet can be pressed into the ring with the fabric sandwiched in between. Ensure to orient the fabric the correct way for using the wall mounting cut-out. Ensure the plate is orientated correctly within the ring (using 6 locating bulges/cut-outs). The plate should snap into the ring with the fabric in-between but the fabric will still have some give, orient it as necessary. Engage the ratchet by pushing it clockwise until the fabric is securely held in place. For extra security use superglue on the excess fabric border or the ratchet to hold it permanently in place. Trim away the remainder of the fabric. The photos included are for reference and the sample embroidery show earlier versions/prototypes.
There are 3 sizes (this is the size of the inner diameter of the ring, the total OD will be +8mm):
120mm, 160mm, 200mm
This design forks best in PLA, but PETG or ASA should work fine too.
0.4mm or 0.3mm nozzles are recommended to get the best quality for the fine ratcheting features. 0.20mm or 0.25mm layer height.
As always with VAS designs, no supports necessary (or needed). Depending on slicer, thin wall recognition might be necessary to get the expanding wiggly lines to print (should print as 2 walls/1 perimeters)
Original SW maker file included - parametrically designed, feel free to add (or request) more size variations.
