Description
I previously added a BOFA Print Pro 2 to manage filtered exhaust from the upper back panel of the EnXLosure. I then decided I'm wasting warmed air and decided to recirculate the filtered air back into the EnXLosure to help maintain temps. I initially thought about flex hose, but I suspected the ridges would impede air flow (not to mention the small available space would not work for the included BOFA hose.)
Since the BOFA exhausts from the bottom of the unit, I built an elevated platform, with an exhaust slot on the side, to extract exhausted, filtered air. The rest of the parts routed air to the fan assembly mounted on the acrylic panel.
For the temperature control system I devoted one fan (always on) to pulling air from the BOFA exhaust. The other fan, which is temperature controlled, injects cool air as needed to maintain EnXLosure temps. For this implementation I needed to mirror the enclosure assembly for a left attachment to the fan assembly. The fan assembly required using a hole saw to cut 2 holes in the side acrylic panel to accommodate air flow. I considered printing a new side panel, but the dimensions are too large for the XL print bed, so rather than print 2 interlocking panels I just cut holes. You'll need to drill 4 4mm holes to attach the fan assembly to the panel, and 1 4mm hole for the temperature probe. Although there is considerable difference between upper/lower EnXLosure temps (about 9C), understanding the offset is easy enough.
This build is esoteric enough I haven't included additional details (such as fan assembly) at this time. If enough are interested I can add more assembly/prep details.
