Suction Cup 2.0 - 100% Printed

This suction cup is an upgrade to my old design, where this one uses no screws or bolts!

it does not hold air forever, as the filament is not soft enough to close completely, but it is very strong for a short period of time.

Printing

Rigid Parts

• The rigid parts are printed in PETG and are all printed without support. 
• It is recommended to have 5 perimeters and 30% infill, to ensure the strength of the parts.
• The layer height should not be more than 0.2mm, for the clip and the lever, as this will make it difficult to assemble and make the lever move rough.

Flexible Parts

• The cup can be printed in TPU 85A and 98A. (I have not tried others)
• Should be printed on a smooth plate to ensure the suction cup is tight.
• It can be an advantage to print a bit hot, to make the TPU flow easier and avoid back pressure in the nozzle leading to the filament getting tangled in the extruder.
• If you are having problems with printing TPU, you can also try to make your first layer a bit higher, since if it is adjusted to be too low, this will cause a back pressure in the nozzle.

Assembling

1. Put the handle into the two holes in the housing and twist it clockwise.
2. put the two clips in the holes next to the handle to lock it in place. (might be necessary to press against a table or other straight surface)
3. put the lever through the the hole in the center of the house.
4. bend the flexible cup, and push the knob into the bottom of the lever.
5. You are done!

Use

1. place the suction cup on a smooth surface.
2. flip the lever.
3. and lift whatever you sucked onto!
4. release the lever and remove the suction cup.
