Description
I needed an outdoor door sensor for my home automations, but I could not find any decent weatherproof sensors. IKEA Parasolls are cheap, working on AAA batteries (even rechargeable ones). So I tried to make some cover.
Project file included, so I would welcome any better designs.
Print it with some outdoor ready material (PETG, ASA, ABS…). No support required, but I recommend a 4mm brim, good printing surface, and good luck. (print files included, but you need to bring your own luck)
Fixing on the door is possible either by double sided tape or two 4mm screws. (The lower must be a slim headed one, the upper needs to be looong… :) I know, not the best design, but I did not have any better idea, without a lot of support.)
Tolerances are tight, so maybe some sanding required on the insert, or you can upscale the outer part a tiny bit. If its becomes loose, there is a hole, to fix the inner part.
