Had issues with the full length lead screw cover breaking during installation or colliding with the bed (despite using magnets) and causing levelling failures so I designed a simpler take on it.
Simple bracket that mounts using the bed screws and keeps a consistent distance from the bed. Helps to guide placement of the print bed and protect it from hitting the lead screw accidentally
Installation instructions:
- Press down the bed at the front left corner and unscrew the left bed knob there by rotating clockwise
- Be careful to not lose the washer sitting on top of the knob. It may be stuck to the underside of the bed
- Place the print over the knob. The recess should fit over the center to hold it in place
- Place the washer into the recess on the other side
- Reinstall the parts again by holding the bed pressed down strongly and screwing the knob on counter-clockwise. Aim for finger tight
- Check that the print does not appear on the camera. If it does, you can adjust it by slightly loosening the bed knob and pushing or pulling it
Printing instructions:
- Material: PETG or ABS
- Print as orientated
- Brim: may be needed if your adhesion is poor due to the thin walls
- Supports: no. Chamfered to avoid the need
- Overhang speed: 20 mm/s. Ensures the recessed holes print cleanly so they have good tolerance
Notes:
- Can be mirrored to also be installed on the right side of the bed, but I had no issues with the full lead screw cover on that side so I didn't bother
