Description

Adjustable door mount to centrally mount TP-Link Tapo C200/C210 cameras for Bambu Lab printers. Mainly for the P1 due to the poor built-in camera (only 0.5 FPS), but fits the X1 too in case you wanted a different camera angle

Features:

  • Door can be opened fully without needing to move the camera
  • Adjustable camera distance and height lets you customise the view
  • Hidden cable channel at rear for a cleaner look
  • Camera remains easily removable

Hardware required:

  • 6x M3 hex nuts
  • 2x M3 x 6 mm screws
  • 6x M3 x 8 mm screws
  • Tapo C200/C210 mount (comes with camera, or can be printed)
  • (Optional) Double sided tape
  • (Optional) Elastic band

Instructions:

  • Add 2x M3 hex nuts to rear of the base
  • Add 2x M3 x 8 mm screws to the bracket and bolt it to the base. Be careful of using longer screws than needed here as you may scratch your printer frame if they protrude past the back
  • Run the camera power cable through the rear cable channel of the base and into the channel along the top of the bracket. The wider portion allows you to twist the cable gently to get around the bends
  • Add 2x hex nuts to the underside of the bracket
  • Add 2x M3 x 8 mm screws to the camera mount and bolt it to the top side of the bracket
  • Press fit 2x M3 hex nuts into camera mount
  • Use 2x M3 x 8 mm (or longer) screws to bolt together the camera mount and Tapo mount
  • Remove the 2x screws at the upper left of the door. Keep the washers
  • (Optional) Add double sided tape to the bottom right corner of the base. This helps pad it against the door to reduce vibrations and sagging
  • Use 2x M3 x 6 mm screws to the base to bolt it to the door
  • (Optional) Run an elastic band between the bracket and top cover handle. This helps to reduce sagging
  • Mount the camera by twisting it into the Tapo mount
  • Loosen the screws of the bracket and camera mount to adjust height and distance of the camera respectively. Tighten the screws again once satisfied

Print settings:

  • Print as orientated
  • Support: manual supports for the underside of the base nut track only. No supports needed otherwise

Notes:

  • Due to the weight of the camera, the base will sag forwards a small amount. The optional double sided tape and elastic band help reduce this. I have not had any creep issues with PLA+ as the camera is quite light
  • Adding better lighting (e.g. riser and LED strip) will improve the glare and image quality. The default single LED strip blows out the image due to its positioning
