Description

I just got a shiny new TS100 soldering iron. It's portable, can run on 4S - 6S LiPo batteries, and has an opensource firmware that just rocks. Also, it's small! It's like the size of a Sharpie marker... So small, that it really didn't feel as secure in my hand as my Weller soldering iron.

This thing is my solution to that problem. When printed in TPU this gives an easy to hold grip which shields your hand, allows easy access to the control buttons, and fits neatly into the Weller solder station.

NOTE: As far as I know, this thing only works when printed with TPU or a comparable flexible filament. I printed it in Sainsmart TPU which is a relatively stiff Shore hardness of 95. It is a snug fit on the TS100 and would likely damage the soldering iron if printed in PLA and forced on.

Please make comments and post makes to help me improve this thing!

Filament: TPU (or other flexible filament) it will be a snug but not overly tight fit. I printed this in Sainsmart TPU which is about 95 shore hardness. rnrnLayer Settings: To get the desired flex, I used 2 shells, 4 layers top and bottom and a light 20% rectilinear fill. rnrnSupport and Cooling: There should be no need for supports, I had no issues with bridging using 100% fan after the 1st layer.rnrnTemperatures: Printed at 220C on a 40C Buildtak bed at 25C ambient.
