Plano 3700 Dividers

My Son-in-law was complaining about storing his fishing gear in these containers and how the dividers always pop out and allow the gear to roll around in the box. While the containers themselves are fine, the dividers are rather flimsy and have a tendency to fall out of the  retaining grooves. 3D printing to the rescue!

I designed these containers to take the place of the thin drop in dividers that come with the case. There is a full depth left side, full depth right side and two drop in trays that fit neatly in the center with smaller divided areas. The larger end containers are embossed for 6 thru 16 oz weights but can be edited out if not desired. The best part of these, is that when the lid is closed and snapped shut, everything stays put in the trays seeing how the top of the dividers meets the closed lid.

While the larger end sections were designed to hold the four size fishing weights he typically uses. The dividers in the center are big enough to hold smaller things like hooks and swivels and the like. You can put whatever you want in them, but the nice thing is they are all removable from the case.

NOTE:

In order to use these, you must remove the nylon ribs from the inside of the case. I used a Dremel, but they can be removed with a sharp knife, chisel or anything else being careful not to cut through the sidewall of the case.

Here are the settings that I used:

• .20 mm layer height
• .4 mm nozzle
• 50% infill
• 6 Perimeters
• Rafts: No
• Supports: Build surface only
• 4 Layers top and bottom
   

I used PLA+ to print these for the additional strength.
