Description
The original Brompton saddle light bracket is neat, but makes the light not very useful because this can be easily covered by the hem of your jacket or your clothing in general.
So I thought of an extended version of it, to drop the light a good 3" (about 80mm) which puts the light in a more visible position from all angles.
You need to print the bracket with PETG, Nylon or similar strong stuff, since the bracket is long makes easy to get things caught with (i.e. the straps of your backpack…).
It will fit all the new Brompton saddles, they have a threaded insert in between the end of the metal rails, using a 10mm M5 bolt and a washer.
The fitting of the light has been made a bit stiff on purpose, to prevent accidental drop, yet I would advise you to slide an O-ring (sized about 20mm) above the light for “belt&braces” approach. The Cateye rear lights are usually very long lasting so there's no frequent need to remove it for charging.
