Description

The original base of the Tizio is composed of two parts, one internal cover that has 3 tabs allowing for an external cover with rubber feet to attach. The 3 tabs on the internal cover are prone to high stress and can break over time, espceially if you need to access the transformer.

This model replaces the internal cover with 3 tabs and instead allows you to attach the external cover with a screw-on triangular ‘clip’ to hold the external cover in place. This does not replace the external cover with 3 feet, you're able to reuse the original.

I used a heat-set brass insert into the main base to then screw in a M3x10-12mm bolt through the triangular clip into the base. If you don't want to use a heat-set insert, modify the baseplate central screw hole to be whatever size thread you want and thread directly into it.

This was designed after one of the original halogen lamps from the 1970s with 12v transformer, I'm not sure if this will work for newer LED lamps. The original lamps do not have the metal rod with the red ball end protruding from the shade. Check attached photos to see if this looks like your base.

I've written on the base 220v-50hz to match that of the original plate (that I have) from Australia, note you may want to change this to what matches your region.
