Description
Our fish had some eggs on the pane of the aquarium and we wanted the little ones to be safe from the filter. Also we wanted them to breed with the same water, as they will live in later. Easiest way is to let them grow inside the tank.
I used the smallest SAMLA box from IKEA and put a slit in the short side above the recessed grip that is slightly above waterlevel. Inside in front of the slit sits a custom cut filter sponge. I had some pipes and an outlet lying around to build a pump that pumps the water into the box.
Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures of the setup, so I drew a sketch :D In the close up you can see the filter sponge on the right. I cut it to be a tight fit, no fish can escape and it does not float.
